British Citizenship by Marriage UK

At Unique Visa Services UK (UVSUK), we specialize in assisting individuals in obtaining British citizenship through marriage. This process, known as naturalisation, is a pathway for foreign nationals married to British citizens to permanently reside in the UK. It’s crucial to note that marriage to a British citizen doesn’t automatically confer British citizenship, but it does qualify you to apply under specific conditions.

Eligibility for British Citizenship by Marriage

To be eligible for British citizenship by marriage, you must:

Be 18 years or older.
Be married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen.
Have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), Indefinite Leave to Enter (ILE), or Settled Status under the EU Settlement Scheme in the UK.
Have lived continuously in the UK for at least three years before applying, with no more than 270 days spent outside the UK during this period and no more than 90 days in the last 12 months.

Additional Requirements

Application Process

You can apply for citizenship as soon as you obtain ILR, ILE, or Settled Status. The application includes a £1,330 fee, a £19.20 biometric residence fee, and any additional costs for English language exams and the Life in the UK test.

Processing Time

The standard processing time is around six months, though complex cases may take longer.

Dual Nationality

The UK allows dual citizenship, so you don’t need to renounce your existing nationality. However, check the laws of your current country of citizenship regarding dual nationality.

Appealing a Refusal

If your application is refused, you can’t normally appeal, but you may request an administrative review or a judicial review under certain conditions.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent service. I applied for an Indian visa. There was a small problem with the photo I first submitted. Raj kept in touch by phone and gave advice. I submitted another photo and got my visa in 2 days. Thanks Raj, if I had tried to do it myself I would’ve had all sorts of problems. Brilliant.
